Rabcat are another outfit that like to develop a small number of high quality games, and Castlebuilder is a great example of their output. This is a mediaeval game with a difference, as it has multiple stages where you’ll complete tasks to build castles.
The reels are shown on right hand side of the screen, whilst the castle you are currently building is shown on the left. Building symbols come in standard, bronze, silver and gold and the more valuable they are more your castle is worth.
There are four different levels to build on four different levels, Forana, Ethril, Ilrian and Empire, with bonus rounds activated each time a castle is completed with a total of 11 building blocks is required to build a single castle, meaning the bonus round will be played quite frequently.
It’s complex stuff – about as demanding as Dungeons and Dragons, perhaps, but if you love high concept adventure games you’ll love every second of it.
