Drive: Multiplier Mayhem Review

NetEnt’s Drive: Multiplier Mayhem game has got alot to live up to, coming so soon after the impressive Guns N’ Roses branded game – so how does it measure up?

Rather well as it happens. For a start, we’re not aware of anyone ever releasing a street racing game of any real note until this one, and as it’s an exciting theme that will appeal to millions it makes sense that somebody should give it the full treatment.

Net have done exactly that. Although all their games have some sort of original elements in terms of both gameplay and theming, this one really pushes the boat out, starting with a decent storyline: The central protagonist is a girl named Jette, who is up against three evil drivers in a post-apocalyptic cityscape that scrolls behind the reels as you play.

Jette and her enemies – Twitch, Hamaki and Bruiser – all appear as higher value symbols whilst the wild symbols is a rev counter. As with most other Net games you can trigger features in the base game rather than having to spin scatters to get things moving, and in Drive you’ll score huge line wins whenever you use wilds to make them. More than one wild results in the Multiplier Mayhem effect, which multipliers up returns from line wins up to 120 times.

The main event, though, is the off-screen bonus race. Land three scatters to trigger it and you’ll see a Jette’s car driving away, ready for some action as she compete against her opponents when three Nitro symbols are collected. Those same symbols also award additional free spins and overlay multiplier wilds as well, and once another three Nitro symbols have been collected, Jetta will take on her next opponent.

It’s tremendously exciting stuff to watch and play and you get a true feeling of competitive spirit in terms of the storyline as well as in terms of how much cash you win. If you love high octane thrills and spills and don’t want to hang around waiting for scatter symbols to enjoy some serious returns we’d highly recommend it.

All decent NetEnt casinos are rolling it out in late February, but it’s already available at LeoVegas, who will give you up to £1,500 in welcome bonus cash and 200 free spins on a Net Ent slot – just join up, get your bonus and get spinning – and take advantage of their multi-offer Drive promotion whilst you’re visiting.
