New slots for March 2017

December promises to be a bumper month for new slots. Here are some games fresh out of the box that will keep you spinning until you drop:

Three great new games will be launched at top online casinos in March 2017:

  1. Wild Toro slots

This impressive contribution from the increasingly-prominent ELK Studios is the only matador-themed slot we’ve ever come across. Perhaps the controversy that surrounds bullfighting is a contributory factor, but other everyone else’s loss is ELK’s gain as the drama, action , excitement and colour associated with this extraordinary sport is second to none, making it ideal inspiration for a slot game.

On the reels you’ll see a handsome matador and his twin-horned opponent along with other classic Andalusian symbols like flamenco fans, roses and Seville oranges. This is to be expected really, though the imagery is pin-sharp and very stylish. There are, though, 4 lines where you’d normally get 3 – and that means ELK can offer you more win lines – 178 in this case.

The Toro Walking Wild feature sees the matador move across the reels along with 4 re-spins – and if he appears elsewhere on the reels during this round you’ll trigger the Toro Goes Wild Bonus Game feature.

At this point the Toro goes wild and attacks the Matador, leaving a trail of wilds for the next re-spin. The bull only stops his rampage once all Matadors have been banished, though the Toro Goes Wild Bonus Game feature can also be triggered much more easily during the Matador Respin Challenge.

There are wins of up to 2,250 times your stake on each spin in this slot, so don’t be scared to give it a whirl – your bankroll may wax and wane but you’ll always live to fight another day!

Wild Toro slots is available at SlotsInc, who will give you up to £1,000 in bonus cash to try it with.
  2. Divine Fortune slots

It’s not immediately apparent from its title, but this is a Greek mythology-themed slot, and being a NetEnt production it’s a particularly good-looking one.

Set in an opulent temple or palace there are two impressive statues framing the reels, which feature wild animals, Medusa, bolts of lightning and the like – though experienced players will see straight past these and notice the progressive jackpot prizes that appear at the top of the reelface.

The Minor, Major and Mega jackpots can win you enough to take a year off, giving this game an added attraction on top of its classic Hellenic splendour.

Divine Fortune slots has 20 lines and comes with a free spin bonus round, Falling Wild Re-Spins and a Wild-on-Wild Feature that expands the wilds to cover an entire reel and ultimately triggers the Progressive Jackpot Bonus Game.

The Mini and Major Jackpots are fixed at 20 times and 100 times your stake. The Mega Jackpot is the one prize that’s truly progressive, taking a 3.7% contribution from each bet. It’s biased slightly in favour of higher-spending players so it’s better to enjoy a few big-budget games on this slot than approach it timidly.

Divine Fortune is available at Mr Green Casino, who will give you £200 free and 100 free spins!
  3. Huangdi - The Yellow Emperor Slots

Huangdi - The Yellow Emperor Slots is a magnificent paean to the most ancient of the five legendary emperors, offering up a fully-researched, historically-accurate yet highly inventive 25 line adventure.

The Yellow Emperor was a culture hero par extraordinaire, whose impact is hard to overestimate: When he wasn’t civilizing the earth and passing on endless reams of knowledge he was inventing armour, weapons, ships, writing, the compass, coined money – and also the wheel.

We’ve yet to hear of anyone who’s racked up a more impressive series of credits (barring the last three leaders of North Korea), so it’s only right and proper that someone developed a decent slot bearing Huangidi’s name – and Microgaming’s production does just that.

Unlike most Eastern-themed slots, this one doesn’t rely on the usual clichés: There are no Geishas, tacky lanterns or fans – instead the symbolism and theming are built around Huangdi himself, and given his achievements this makes a great deal of sense.

The higher value symbols include medicine boxes, swords, instruments, a stunning animated dragon and – of course – Huangdi himself, and they all combine to tell the story of the battle of Zhuolou.

For some designers such a fiery thematic narrative would be a great excuse to use a seriously over-the-top set of visuals, but a suitable level for restraint has been used here.

It’s still colourful, though – but it doesn’t use any of the migraine-inducing primaries that other Oriental games like to employ, and the score has been properly thought-out: Think Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon rather than Jackie Chan, and you’ll get the idea.

The gameplay, thankfully, is as upmarket as the sounds and visuals. There are both stacked and expanding symbols to help you win, and you can win up to 60,000 in a free spins round that yields 15 free games, that can be retriggered to give you a total of 30.

Huangdi: Yellow Emperor is on offer at LeoVegas, who will give you up to £1,500 in bonus cash to try it with!
