Monopoly Big Event: Win up to £250,000

Where to play Monopoly Big Event for free

Not that long ago there were several Monopoly slots, all developed by IGT. In fact, there were so many that players were getting confused and didn’t always pick the best game – but that all changed in 2015 with the launch of Monopoly: Big Event.

The licence to make Monopoly games is now held by WMS, via Barcrest and Scientific Games, and they’ve combined all the best features of the previous Monopoly slots to make Big Event exactly what it sounds like.

What makes Monopoly: Big Event so popular?

In a word, features. Whilst this game brilliantly evokes the feel of the original boardgame, it’s the sheer volume and quality of extra features that made it an instant classic.

The Big Event feature is triggered by landing the Big Event symbol on reels 1, 3 and 5, although if you spin 2 stacked symbols on Reel 5 you’ll be awarded the Big Event game with House Sneak Preview; trigger it with 3 stacked symbols on Reel 5, however, and you’re awarded the Big Event game with Hotel Sneak Preview.

The House and Hotel Sneak Previews are where the famous Chance and Community Chest elements come into play. The House Sneak Preview shows you Chance Card positions of the 3 houses whilst the Hotel Sneak Preview reveals the Chance Card positions of the 3 hotels.

Following on from that, you’ll choose Community Chest and Chance Cards alternately with the former revealing how many free spins and guaranteed wins you’ve been awarded and the latter revealing bonus symbols. Spin 3 identical symbols and you’ll will activate the corresponding bonus with the number of free spins and guaranteed wins collected up until that point.

The Locking Wilds feature will lock any wild symbols spun during the feature for the remainder of that feature until you land the ‘In Jail’ symbol anywhere on the reels. Also, the lowest paying symbol on the reels will be removed from all future free spins in the feature.
If you play the Dancing Wild free spins feature, a reel is chosen randomly per free spin to become fully wild. Look out for the ‘In Jail’ symbol as this eliminates the lowest paying symbol found on the reels from the remaining free spins in the bonus feature.

Guaranteed Wins will tell you how the minimum number of wins available in the features – when you have a winning spin, the Guaranteed Wins meter decreases by 1. However, if you have any guaranteed wins remaining, this will play out on a separate reel set.

There is also a Big Bet Game feature which you can play by clicking the ‘Play Big Bet’ purple button to the right hand side of the reels. You will have a choice between 2 games – you have the £20 or £30 game. In the £20 game, a win multiplier is applied to wins on each spin. It starts at 1 and goes up one at a time 5 times.

How much can I win on Monopoly: Big Event?

There’s a £250,000 limit on Monopoly Big Event, so if you get lucky you’ll walk away with quarter of a million pounds.

What is the volatility of Monopoly: Big Event?

The RTP on this slot varies. It’s normally 95%, but if you choose to play the Big Bet game then it goes up to an incredible 99%. In terms of variance/volatility it’s a low to medium game, so you’ll get to enjoy plenty of bonus round action even in a short session, though with an optional 99% RTP we'd recommend playing larger amounts for less games as statistically you'll get a superior outcome.

Where can I play Monopoly: Big Event for free?

1. Mr Smith Casino

Each of your first three deposits at Mr Smith will earn you a welcome bonus and free spins. Your first deposit gets a 100% match up to £100 and 100 free spins; your second get 50% up to £50 and 50 free spins, with your third getting 150% worth up to £150 and 150 free spins. All of these offers come with a wagering requirement of 25 times bonus plus deposit.

2. William Hill Games

Will Hill’s Games channel often gets forgotten about with their main Casino area taking precedence, but that’s a shame as this part of their huge online empire is well worth a visit. When you join up and wager £100 they’ll give you £20 free with no further playthrough needed, making it in our opinion the most accessible and most transparent casino bonus on the web.

3. Betfair Arcade

Their Arcade area is without doubt our favourite part of Betfair’s impressive multi-channel gaming site, and they’ll give you a free Tenner in their Bet £10 Get £10 offer. Just sign up, opt in, deposit and the cash is yours with a playthrough requirement of just once.

4. LeoVegas

LeoVegas have got one of the very biggest deposit bonus schemes on the web with a massive £1,500 on offer when you make four deposits. These are matched 200%, 100%, 100% and 50% with bonuses of up to £100, £500, £500 and £400. Playthrough is set at a very reasonable 35 times bonus so you’ll easily be able to start making withdrawals when you use your bonus cash to make winning spins on Tomb Raider and other slots.

5. Sky Vegas

We’ve always had a soft spot for Sky Vegas thanks to their sheer generosity. Not only do they give you a £10 free bonus just for registering that you can spend on any game(s) you like, but they’ll also triple your first deposit with a 200% welcome bonus. This comes with a 40 times deposit plus bonus wagering requirement, however the £10 free no deposit bonus has a playthrough multiple of just 20 times bonus.

Sky Vegas doesn’t just win over on bonuses, either: It’s got a superb collection of games that are all specifically chosen for their popular appeal. The site has a tabloid look and feel (hardly surprising given its ownership) and consequently comes across as The People’s Casino with classic TV gameshow brands like Deal or No Deal and The X Factor featuring extensively along with the most popular casino floor games from the likes of IGT, WMS and – of course – Novomatic.

6. Ladbrokes Vegas

The Vegas channel at Ladbrokes’ huge site has some superb games to try that you may not have seen before, and they’re giving you £40 free in return for depositing £20. That’s a 200% welcome bonus and it’s got a 20 times rollover on both deposit and bonus.

7. bet365 Games

Your password at bet365 will get you into any area you want, including their excellent games section. Here, you’ll be given a 100% welcome bonus worth up to £100 with a rollover requirement of 20 times bonus plus deposit.
