Caribbean Stud Poker: The hottest new name in table gaming

Ever since Caribbean Stud Poker was introduced in online casinos we’ve been waiting for the first big jackpot winner to emerge from this fascinating game – so we were delighted to see that a player recently won £142,761 from a stake of just £1 at Betfred Casino

Playing Caribbean Stud Poker, the big win raked in a staggering £142,761.77 from just a £1 Jackpot side bet!

Most players aren’t familiar with the exotic-sounding Caribbean Stud Poker, but it’s easy to pick up and offers vastly-enhanced winning potential compared to other table poker games.

It’s essentially a game of Five Card Stud, except there’s an optional ante bet with every round. This gives you access to a progressive jackpot.

If you happen to be dealt a flush, full house, four-of-a-kind, straight flush or royal flush and have placed an ante bet you will win additional money.

After ante and any progressive bets are placed, all players and the dealer will be dealt five cards each. The players' cards are face down and the dealer will place four of his cards face down and one face up.

You then need to decide if you have a winning hand based on basic poker hand rankings. If you have absolutely nothing, not even a pair, it’s best to fold.

If, however, you have a playable hand, perhaps a pair or straight, and you believe that you might beat the dealer's hand, it's time to place an additional bet in the box marked.

Once all players have made their decision to either play or fold, the dealer reveals their hand. The Dealer's hand must contain a minimum poker hand ranking of an Ace and King; if it doesn’t, he folds. At that time, players who stayed in the game, receive evens on the ante bet. However, their secondary bet is returned to them with no additional money.

If the dealer's hand contains at least an Ace and King, he must then play his hand against each player based on traditional poker hand rankings. If your hand beats the dealer's, you win even money on your ante bet. For your secondary bet, odds vary from evens up to 100 to 1 for a Royal Flush.
